My hand is grey on-screen and I'm not being able to make a selection. What's wrong?

Make sure your other hand isn't at chest height and closed into a fist, or that your friend isn't doing the scrolling gesture either! Also make sure you're fully facing the Kinect so the game knows you're engaged and trying to navigate.
