What is Rock Band Rivals?

Rock Band Rivals is an expansion pack for Rock Band 4. It brings brand-new features and songs to the Rock Band franchise, and provides exclusive access to future content updates.

 

What features are included in Rock Band Rivals?

Four major features come to Rock Band with the Rock Band Rivals expansion: Rockudrama, Rivals Mode, Missions, and Online Multiplayer. 

  • Rockudrama is a playable rock documentary, where you and your band group up, start gigging, and find your way through your very own story on a fictional show called Beneath the Tuneage.
  • In Rivals Mode, you’ll be joining a Crew with your best friends (or new ones!) and competing against rival Crews through asynchronous Seasonal challenges and leaderboards.
  • Missions send you on tasks within your library, such as earning lots of Overdrive or playing certain songs. You'll even see non-standard asks, like getting a single solitary star on purpose.
  • Online Multiplayer allows you to play with those all around the world, via a customizable lobby system.

 

Can I get updates to Rock Band 4 now that Rock Band Rivals is out?

Everyone will receive stability enhancements, but only players who upgrade to Rock Band Rivals will receive the full suite of content and features. All purchased DLC, legacy and new, will continue to be re-downloadable and playable in Rock Band 4, with or without the Rock Band Rivals expansion pack.

 

Does the Fender Jaguar controller have a headphone jack for online play?

No. We recommend you use your favorite wireless headset to avoid getting tangled when you’re rocking out.

 

How can the Jaguar fold? Does it lock in place?

The Jaguar guitar controller folds back using a hinge system. The neck of the controller will lock in place when it is unfolded for gameplay. There is no locking system when the Jaguar guitar controller is folded. Check out this video to see the fold in action!

 

What peripherals can I use the Xbox One Wired Legacy Adapters for? Do they have multiple USB slots?

PDP’s Wired Legacy Adapter has one USB port and supports one peripheral per adapter. The Wired Legacy Adapter is exclusively compatible with Rock Band 4 and these specific legacy controllers:

  • Rock Band 3 Midi PRO-Adapter for Xbox 360
  • ION Drum Rocker for Xbox 360
