Why does my game keep telling me 'Microphone not detected'? I don't want to sing!

Because Rock Band microphones don't have buttons, they rely on regular game controllers to navigate for them. Drum sets, keyboards and guitars have buttons to navigate on their own. If you have a regular game controller on, the game will be looking for the microphone it is controlling. If you don't want to sing, turn the regular controllers off and use the drums or guitars to navigate.
